Sophisticated scanner from AuRü offers innovative solution

As a competent manufacturer of high-quality collection and retention systems for water-polluting substances, AuRü specializes in securing refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Substances hazardous to water, such as oil and glycol, are reliably detected by collection systems with innovative technology and retained in accordance with legal requirements. AuRü relies on sophisticated sensor technology and intelligent evaluation units. Thanks to the variety of products and project-related concept creation, every customer receives a customized safety system.

With the right partners, even complex projects can be realized

RK Plan GmbH is a highly qualified and experienced planning office in Maintal and supported Interxion: A Digital Reality Company with the individual project development for the major FRA 15 project in Frankfurt am Main.

With the expertise of both partners, Interxion was able to implement this challenging project.

Intelligent environmental technology in use at Interxion

In cooperation with RK Plan, AuRü realized a tailor-made special solution for the FRA 15 construction project.

Interxion: A Digital Reality Company is a leading provider of carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data center services in EMEA. Interxion’s data centers are in an energy-efficient design and offer maximum security and availability for the operation of business-critical applications.

The large-scale FRA 15 project was realized with a data centre area of 9,600 sqm. The task of ensuring that the glycols (water hazard class 1) used here in the recooling plants do not enter the groundwater or wastewater under any circumstances could be implemented with the AuRü glycol scanner. This has made a major contribution to environmental protection.

A major challenge of the project was to completely secure all above-ground pipelines and systems.

The presentation of the AuRü glycol scanner convinced Interxion straight away. Another decisive factor was that the function of this highly efficient glycol sensor system in accordance with. DIN EN 13160-4 “Requirements and test/assessment methods for sensor-based leak detection systems” was successfully tested by TÜV Nord Systems GmbH& Co. KG.

The AuRü glycol scanner consists of several combined sensor units. Glycol is detected with high precision within a few seconds and its concentration is measured at the same time, independently of the conductivity and turbidity measurement of the water, in order to avoid error messages due to contamination. The system was placed centrally in several underground rainwater retention basins at FRA 15. The rainwater from the areas where the refrigeration systems and pipes are located is collected in these retention basins.

This individual implementation offers absolutely reliable monitoring, which can be easily retrofitted to existing systems.

AuRü’s complex set-up concept ensures optimum water and environmental protection and enables the fail-safe and efficient operation of business-critical applications and systems.
