What is a glycol protector used for?

A glycol protector is used to detect leaks early and safely contain escaping glycol before it enters the soil, groundwater or sewage system.

It is necessary because units which operated with substances that pose hazards to water must be constructed in such a way that liquids can't escape . Especially in technical systems (e.g. refrigeration systems or heat pumps) there is a risk that glycol mixtures will leak in case of a defect.
